Understanding Digital Product Licenses

We offer products with various types of licenses. Here’s a clear breakdown to help you navigate your options. You’ll need to download the product to see the full license details.

Private Label Rights (PLR)

Private Label Rights provide the most comprehensive license. With PLR, you can:

  • Edit and customize the content
  • Claim authorship
  • Set your own price for resale

This means you can completely rebrand and tailor the product to your needs. For instance, if you buy a PLR ebook, you can change the title, modify paragraphs, add new sections, and put your name on it. PLR gives you full creative control and ownership.

Master Resell Rights (MRR)

Master Resell Rights let you sell the product with “resell rights”. With MRR:

  • You can help others start their businesses
  • No editing or modification of the product is allowed
  • You owe no royalties or commissions

You keep 100% of the profits, making the product entirely yours to resell as-is.

Resell Rights (RR)

Resell Rights allow you to sell the product as your own, unchanged unless specified otherwise in the license. Key points include:

  • Unlimited sales to customers with 100% of the profits going to you
  • Customers do not get rights to resell

There may be specific conditions, such as a minimum selling price. For example, the license might require that an ebook be sold for no less than $7. Always check the terms carefully.

Give Away Rights (GAR)

Give Away Rights allow you to distribute the product for free. Common uses for GAR products include:

  • Building a mailing list
  • Attracting website visitors
  • Providing freebies to keep subscribers happy
  • Offering bonuses with other products

Personal Use (PU)

Personal Use licenses restrict the product to your personal use only. These licenses:

  • Are intended for activities like reading, teaching, or sharing (if permitted)
  • Do not allow for resale or modification
  • Allow unlimited personal use but prohibit any form of distribution

You can make copies for your own use but cannot share them with others.

Commercial Use (CU)

Commercial Use licenses allow you to use the product for client projects where you charge for your time and work. This license:

  • Permits use for any number of clients
  • Allows you to bill clients for your services

These licenses are perfect for professionals offering customized services to their clients.
